By Xianyi Qian Yiming He

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijem.2011.01.01, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2011

In this paper, we have introduced the structure of resonance linear motion actuator which applied to coal mine. And we have built two-dimensional analyzing model by using finite element method. On the basis of the analysis, we have calculated the motor’s air-gap field and magnetism, and we also have studied the affection of motor which caused by permanent magnet’s size. We have studied motor’s winding current when it operates at constant amplitude, and the corresponding experiment results have verified the correctness of finite element model. We have studied the numerical value calculation of resonance linear motion actuator and calculation of its magnetism characteristic. What we have analyzed shows that the air-gap field of motor changes continuously and the magnetism is proportional to winding current. And the results can help technologists to design this kind of motor.

By Yuxiang Ma Benguo Liu Huirong Zhang Li Yang

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijem.2011.01.02, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2011

Tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum) has been consumed in China as health food and medicine. In this study, the ethanol extract (EE) of tartary buckwheat was prepared. The major flavonoid in EE was identified as rutin by HPLC-PDA-ESI/MS and the content of rutin in EE was determined as 27.4 % by HPLC. In the anticancer assay, it was found EE could inhibit the proliferation of the human hepatocellular liver carcinoma Hep G2 cell line in a dose-dependent manner. The increase of an early apoptotic population was observed by both annexin-FITC and PI staining, which suggested that EE could induce Hep G2 cells to enter into apoptosis.

Positive Crankcase Ventilation System

By Gaoming Ding

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijem.2011.01.03, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2011

In this paper, we have studied the traditional Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve equipment. Then we have improved the system by adding ventilation equipment. We have applied this kind of connection equipment on gas engine which has no PCV. This can determine the engine fuel-air ratio and make the engine get the best power performance, economical efficiency and emission behavior. Because emission amount is based on input air amount, so how to control the input air amount is the basis of the whole system. On the basis of traditional inlet manifold MVEM, we have considered the affection of PCV system, and we have simulated the actual input air process by getting improved module’s input air amount and inlet manifold pressure parameters. So the fuel-air ratio precision can be increased greatly. We also have prompted some improving directions about traditional inlet manifold. So we can ensure that engine can get a compact structure and good response on the all operation states.

Local Reweighted Kernel Regression

By Weiwei Han

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijem.2011.01.04, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2011

Estimating the irregular function with multiscale structure is a hard problem. The results achieved by the traditional kernel learning are often unsatisfactory, since underfitting and overfitting cannot be simultaneously avoided, and the performance relative to boundary is often unsatisfactory. In this paper, we investigate the data-based localized reweighted regression model under kernel trick and propose an iterative method to solve the kernel regression problem. The new framework of kernel learning approach includes two parts. First, an improved Nadaraya-Watson estimator based on blockwised approach is constructed; second, an iterative kernel learning method is introduced in a series decreased active set to choose kernels. Experiments on simulated and real data sets demonstrate that the proposed method can avoid underfitting and overfitting simultaneously and improve the performance relative to the boundary effect.

C2C E-commerce Risk Assessment Based on AHP and Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation

By Wei baolu Dai Feng Liu jingxu

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijem.2011.01.06, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2011

Firstly this paper gives an introduction to the current C2C e-commerce transactions in China and gives a review of relevant theories and research. Then, we proposed a new method that AHP and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method of combining, and discuss the methods used in this risk assessment of the feasibility of e-commerce transactions. Finally, an instance of the application of this method to assess the final results prove that the application of the method of assessment of such problems feasible.
With the rapid development of Internet, e-commerce as a new business model has achieved great development and progress which greatly changed the way people live and work, at the same time it gives a rise to the unlimited business opportunities. C2C is one kind of the e-commerce transactions, Internet service providers that use of computer and network technology, used to provide paid or unpaid. E-commerce platform allows two parties (mainly for individual users) in its platform to bid independently, bargaining-based online trading patterns. In recent years, China's C2C market in a rapid growth phase, this model has become the holder of a large number of small venture capital approach. However, due to the virtual nature of online transactions, buyers and sellers transaction process is often non-face environment in, on product quality, price and service and other aspects of information entirely on the buyer's estimate. Therefore, C2C e-commerce system model is a clear system of information asymmetry, the potential risk is enormous. Asymmetric information in this trading environment, to ensure smooth transactions and reduce risk, the two sides of the credit problem is particularly prominent. Meanwhile, in the current transaction before the transaction, the risk prediction and assessment has become very important. Currently, e-commerce e-commerce credit risk has become a constraint to further development of the main obstacles.

Transabdominal and Laparoscopic Myomectomy Comparative Analysis of 566 Cases

By Minhua Gao

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijem.2011.01.07, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2011

The purpose of our study here is introducing curative effect by comparing and analyzing abdominal type myomectomy and laparoscopic myomectomy. We have compared and analyzed 301 cases of abdominal type myomectomy and 265 cases of laparoscopic myomectomy which were in our hospital from January 2003 to December 2008. The study shows that the time of abdominal type myomectomy is 87.18±36.80 minutes, and the time of laparoscopic myomectomy is 81.56±30.71 minutes. There isn’t obvious difference between these two kinds of surgeries. The hemorrhagic volume in abdominal type myomectomy is 106.86±32.65 ml and the hemorrhagic volume in laparoscopic myomectomy is 85.23±30.37 ml. The hemorrhagic volume difference in these two kinds of surgeries is very important from the point of view of statistics (P<0.01). The average days which used to restore in abdominal type myomectomy is 2.85±1.73, and the average days which used to restore in laparoscopic myomectomy is 5.81±1.47. And the difference is also very important (P<0.01). We have concluded that the laparoscopic myomectomy has such advantages as small hurt, rapid restoration and no incision. On the other hand, the hemorrhagic volume is very low and the restoration-days are very low.

A Simple, Yet Rapid and Effective Method for LogP Prediction of Dipeptides Based on Theoretical Descriptors (HMLP)

By Jiajian Yin Yong Liu

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijem.2011.01.08, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2011

The hydrophobicity of peptide is an important factor that affects the dissolution behavior of proteins and peptides, also affect the physical and chemical properties. In this study, each amino acid side chain was characterized using three structure parameters (heuristic molecular lipophilicity potential, HMLP). The HMLP parameters, total surface area(S), lipophilic indices (L), and hydrophilic indices (H) of amino acid side chains are derived from theoretical computation. Based on HMLP descriptors, QSAR models of the logP were constructed for blocked and unblocked dipeptides by multiple linear regression (MLR) and support vector regression (SVR). All the results showed that the logP relates to the total surface area(S) and hydrophilic indices (H), and the prediction results of SVR are better than that of MLR. The prediction results are in agreement with the experimental values. The result shows HMLP parameters (S,L,H) could preferably describe the structure features of the peptides responsible for their octanol to water partition behavior.

The Identification of Human Cassette Exons based on SVM

By Lan Tao Yanmeng Xu Huakui Chen Zexuan Zhu

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijem.2011.01.09, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2011

Alternative splicing is the main mechanism expanding transcript diversity. Cassette exon is an important alternative splicing form that is very similar to constitutive exon in sequence features. Previous studies which based on expressed sequence tags (ESTs) and evolutionary conservation information have identified many alternative splicing events. In this paper, we construct a classifier to identify the human cassette exons based on Support vector machine (SVM) which only make use of sequence information. It can achieve the accuracy of 68.12%. Especially, the classifier can achieve 76.54% when considering the splicing frequency. The results show that the sensitivity and specificity of this method are higher than those recently reported on the same dataset.

By Zhang Ying Zhang Tao-hong Xin Rui-wu Yang Bing-ru

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijem.2011.01.10, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2011

The particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is a stochastic global optimization technique based on swarm intelligence. It possesses advantages such as being a simple principle, few parameters and easy to be realized. In this paper, an optimization model is established to solve the difficulty in selecting parameters and improve the simulation accuracy of the biodegradable medical polymer degradation model. When modeling, the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed to solve the model and calculate undetermined parameters of the biodegradable medical polymer degradation equations. A comparative analysis of the calculation results is progressed. It shows that parameters determined by optimization model make the simulation results of degradation model more close to the experiment results. Using this method to solve the model is more accurate and efficiency than determining parameters artificially. It also shows that the particle swarm optimization algorithm used to optimize parameters have practical significance and application value.

Behavioral Compatibility Analysis of Component-based Real-time System

By Lin Xi Qinglei Zhou

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijem.2011.01.11, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2011

For verification of component behavior compatibility in component-based real-time system, we make use of the timed automata to formally describe the component. In this way, the problem of component behavior compatibility is equivalent to whether the complementary actions can really synchronize over common channels on the system’s TA models. We then use the verification function of UPPAAL to automatically generate result, and finally conduct a case study to demonstrate how our technique works.
