Two-Stage Dynamic Sensor Deployment Strategy Based on Virtual Force and Genetic Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks

By Jianguo Shi Changjie Zhou

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.01.01, Pub. Date: 29 Jan. 2012

Dynamic sensor deployment is one of the key topics in the research of WSNs. The performance of virtual force algorithm may be deteriorated because the stationary sensor nodes will confine the global optimal searching ability. Genetic algorithm is an efficient optimization tool for multi-dimensional optimization problems in acontinuous space with some disadvantages such as slow convergence and prematurity. This paper proposes a two-stage dynamic sensor deployment strategy in WSNs based on virtual force and genetic algorithm. That is, the algorithm firstly deploys the dynamic sensors in continuous larger area in WSNs in an approximate optimal way to produce high quality initial population by virtual force. Then GA is employed to achieve global optimization coverage of WSNs based on the result of the first stage. Simulation results demonstrate that the algorithm presented in this paper is effective and efficient.

Application of DFS in the Study of Edge-connected Graph

By Cui-xia XU

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.01.02, Pub. Date: 29 Jan. 2012

In this paper a simple method is proposed to determine whether a graph is edge-connected. This method may calculate the minimum pre-order number of each vertex by back edge for the depth-first search spanning tree, and then find out the bridges in the graph. Finally, it may determine whether the graph is edge-connected. The best nature of method is to understand and hold the algorithm easily. It can help teaching improvement and practice application. It is also worth popularization.

The application agents and web services based on ontology

By WANG Yi SUN Hui-juan

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.01.03, Pub. Date: 29 Jan. 2012

In this information-exploding era, the user expects to spend short time retrieving really useful information rather than spending plenty of time and ending up with lots of garbage information. The purpose of this paper is firstly to highlight the problems that hamper the application of agents and web services separately. Our contribution is an overall solution based on a fully-fledged architecture and proof-of-concept implementation that serves as a meeting point for both service consumers and service providers through a simple web-based graphical ontology. The experiments show the algorithm could flexibly and dynamically discover resources and therefore provide a valuable addition to the field.

Digital Audio Watermarking Based on Artificial Neural Networks

By Liangbin Zheng Ruqi Chen Xiaojin Cheng Linhong Li

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.01.04, Pub. Date: 29 Jan. 2012

A digital audio watermarking based on artificial neural networks is proposed in this paper. Utilizing the learning and adaptive capabilities of artificial neural networks, the relationship between audio signals and embedded watermark is established by using the important characters of audio signals as the input vector of artificial neural networks, and the watermark were embedded into original audio signals without modifying the audio data. The experimental results show that the embedded watermark is robust to audio signal processing, and the watermarking method does not require the original audio signals for watermarking extraction.

Flow Analysis of Fresh Vegetable Box Based on Multiporosity Material

By Yu-Zhou Lou Yun-De Shen Hai-Dong Qian Bin Sun Zhen-Zhe Li Kai-Bin Cao

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.01.05, Pub. Date: 29 Jan. 2012

Fresh vegetable box is a box including a gas control device, uses of the principle of controlled atmosphere to keep fresh vegetable effect. In the preservation process, the fresh vegetable box can not be so easy to obtain uniform velocity field because the parameters of the box have different effects, and it will affect final preservation effect of fresh vegetable box. In this paper, a fresh vegetable box based on multiporosity material was recommended. 5 different cases were candidated and analyzed for investigating the effect of the property of the multiporosity material. The analysis results show that the property has an important effect to final velocity uniformity. The developed product and method can be used to develop a high performance fresh vegetable box.

Research On the “Cooperative Education” Model Cultivating In Higher Vocational Education

By Lina Yu

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.01.06, Pub. Date: 29 Jan. 2012

At present, there are many problems with the cooperative education model in China. Some of these are external environment, and there are also some problems in the process of cooperation, which requires common solutions among government, industry, schools and businesses. To ensure the cooperative education develops effectively, the successful experiences of foreign countries should be adopted to establish a protection mechanism and explore specific measures to ensure both school and enterprise benefit from it.
This paper firstly defines the concept of cooperative education model. Secondly, it reports on the different policies implemented in western countries, and then thirdly proposes the principles and basic framework of building cooperative education. Finally some measures are proposed to address the present problem of cooperative education model. The study substantiated the meaning of cooperative education model, and suggested that China needs to seek its own development path for cooperative education.

An Adaptive Audio Watermarking Scheme Method Based on Kernel Fuzzy C-means Clustering

By Honghong Chen Zulin Zhang

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.01.12, Pub. Date: 29 Jan. 2012

In this paper, we propose an adaptive audio watermarking scheme according to local audio features. Firstly, the original audio signal is partitioned into audio frames and these audio frames are transformed into DWT domain respectively. Next, the local features of each audio frame are extracted respectively, and these features are used to train kernel fuzzy c-means (KFCM) clustering algorithm. According to well-trained KFCM, the audio frames to embed the watermark are selected and their embedding strengths are determined adaptively. The experimental results show the proposed method is robust to common signal processing operations such as lossy compression (MP3), filtering, re-sampling, re-quantizing, etc.
