An Evaluation Model of Tuition Fee in Higher Education

By Dong-Xin Deng Cheng Chang Shuai Wang Ming Feng

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.12.01, Pub. Date: 29 Dec. 2012

This paper surveys evaluation and pricing of tuition fee from two perspectives: society and school. We use the optimization theory in fuzzy mathematics and operations research to establish the evaluation model based on overall society and school satisfaction degree; Taking maximum overall Satisfaction degree as our goal and all factors of comprehensive tuition fee evaluation as the restriction, we establish the optimization model of tuition fee pricing to get the tuition standard in higher education. Then we classify disciplines according to the specific reality and calculate the grades and reference prices in disciplines of three schools in Guangdong Province, China. We further obtain the reference tuition fee in other provinces using the regional conversion coefficient. At last we give our directions for tuition fee pricing of higher education.

An Efficient Key Distribution Scheme for Sensor Networks

By Mei Weng Hongshan Qu

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.12.02, Pub. Date: 29 Dec. 2012

Security schemes of pairwise key establishment plays a fundamental role in research on security issue in wireless sensor networks. However, establishing pairwise keys in wireless sensor networks is not a trivial task, particularly due to the resource constraints on sensors. In this paper, we prose an efficient key distribution scheme, in which each sensor node randomly selects two key pools from several different key pools and chooses keys from these key pools. The analysis shows that this proposed scheme can substantially improve the security of existing key predistribution scheme.

The Impact of Human Capital on income—Based on the Perspective of Education

By Li Bingshui Hu Hong-wei Yan Ya

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.12.03, Pub. Date: 29 Dec. 2012

Human capital, scocial capital and employment type are the main factors which affect labour income, and the differentiation of labour income is based on these factors. This paper, from the basic theory of human capital ,social capital and employment, through the manipulating of these factors, based on a experiential method, tests the significant factors affecting labour income. And we finds that human capital and employment type has positive effect on migrants’ labour income, while social capital has no prominent effect on migrant farmers’ labour income. Based on the deep analysis, this paper brings forward some advice to advance migrant farmers’ labour income based on the perspective of education.

Education Level, Young Migrant Labors and Social Exclusion

By Hu Hong-wei Cao Yang

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.12.06, Pub. Date: 29 Dec. 2012

With rapid transition in China, young migrant labors begin to replace old ones. However, there are still many obstacles to the citizenization process of young migrant labors, and the main difficulty is social exclusion. From the perspective of social exclusion, this paper uses Logistic Regression, OLS and Ordered Probit to explore the education level‟s impact on young migrant labors‟ social exclusion. Eventually the research discovers that years of education, family burden, psychological gap and friend relationship have a significant effect, and the regression results are steady. Based on it, this paper proposes several ideas of strengthening rural education and reducing exclusion.

College Student Population Size and Management Strategy

By Feng Ruiyin Ma Liping Zhao Jinchuan

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.12.09, Pub. Date: 29 Dec. 2012

When the student population size of a school or college reaches a certain amount or critical value, student groups will occur a qualitative change, this can be seen most clearly occurrence of various incidents is a conspicuous rise within student groups, the type of incidents occurred more is diverse and facing the situation is even more complex. The article attempts to puts forward the critical value of a school entity population size and its impact factors, and states the management strategy after the population size exceeded the critical value from the viewpoints of proportionate relationships of teachers and students.

A Cross-Layer Dynamic Probabilistic Broadcasting Strategy for Mobile Ad hoc Networks

By WANG Qingwen Shi Haoshan Qi Qian

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.12.10, Pub. Date: 29 Dec. 2012

In order to solve the broadcast storm problem caused by blind flooding, a cross-layer dynamic probabilistic broadcasting strategy for mobile ad hoc networks (CLDPB) is proposed. CLDPB adopts the cross-layer design, which let routing layer share the received signal power information at MAC layer while still maintaining separation between the two layers. The additional transmission range that can benefit from rebroadcast is calculated according to the received signal power, which is applied to dynamically adjust the rebroadcast probability. CLDPB reduces the redundant retransmission and the chance of the contention and collision in the networks. Simulation results reveal that the CLDPB achieves better performance in terms of the saved-rebroadcast, the average packet drop fraction, the average number of collisions and average end-to-end delay, which is respectively compared with the blind flooding and fixed probabilistic flooding applied at the routing layer while IEEE 802.11 at the MAC layer.
