By Li Tian Yonghua Zhu Huaiyang Zhu

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.04.01, Pub. Date: 29 Apr. 2012

With the swift development of workflow technology, workflow management system has been widely used. To date, many models and architectures are efficient in constructing workflow engine which is the core of a workflow management system. This paper presents a relational data-based lightweight workflow engine model which based on the relational database. In this model, the definition of the workflow and the data used in the workflow process are kept in the database. This model contains the necessary functions and characteristics of simple business flow rather than all the business flow. The model is composed of three main function modules. These three modules interact with database through DBMS. Under the guidance of this model, a flexible and low-cost workflow engine can be built efficiently. Now this model has been used by Shanghai Rongheng Inforamtion Technology Ltd.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.04.02, Pub. Date: 29 Apr. 2012

VoIP over WLAN which is called VoWLAN is an application of VoIP based on WLAN. This article mainly researches the PCF polling scheme in the IEEE802.11 Protocol. An improved PCF polling scheme has been proposed to meet the requirement of real-time business. The improved PCF polling scheme is based on Superpoll algorithm, it uses the concept of priority service and combines with the PCF uplink algorithm. In the improved PCF scheme, the VoIP station and VoIP packet has a higher priority, they can get continuous services. According to the experiment of simulation software, the improved PCF polling scheme can support the real time business such as VoIP effectively, the time delay of the VoIP packet has been reduced, and the session quality of the VoWLAN has evidently improved.

A Low Power Consumption Architecture Model for Multiple Processors on Optical Printed Circuit Board

By Xinjiang Shao Jian Liu Jiyu Jin Zhisen Wang Nianyu Zou

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.04.03, Pub. Date: 29 Apr. 2012

Traditional single-core processors and multiprocessors architectures encounter some problems which are high heat generation, high cost to produce and high power consumption. In this paper, a model to achieve low power consumption by using several processors managed separately with useful energy saving strategies including switching the mode of processors, assign tasks to different CPUs, using optical fiber as transmitting media etc. is proposed. In this way, the architecture manages to disperse the energy dissipation. Some evaluations on power consumption, cost and performance are made which proves that it is an effective method to reduce the power consumption.

By Hong Bao Tao Peng Jun Zhang Chang Liu

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.04.06, Pub. Date: 29 Apr. 2012

Based on “National Service Outsourcing Talents Cultivating Model Innovation Experimental Zone” project, research and practice on international service outsourcing talents cultivation are carried out in School of Information of Beijng Union University. The standards of service outsourcing talents are studied and curriculum reform is implemented in accordance with the standards. Furthermore, other various forms of outsourcing talents cultivation measures are put forward, such as cross-cultural education program, teachers exchange with foreign universities and bilingual teaching, customized talents cultivation cooperation with international famous enterprises and so on. Through a series of reform measures, students not only have the expertise of the information service outsourcing talents, but also have broad international perspective, good cross-cultural communication ability, excellent teamwork skills, and career aptitude.

By Ma Fu Yang Ping Wang Xuetong Cui Yingan

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.04.09, Pub. Date: 29 Apr. 2012

In view of the difficulty in employment of computer science major, the further exploration of the new cultivating mode to adapt the social development has been the task at the forefront of the colleges and universities. So, supported by the technological means, the implementation of the undergraduate student tutorial system which follows the principle of “the whole participation, contracting by individual, divide- and-rule”, can make the combination of teaching and moral education in the universities come true, and can make the teaching in accordance with the students’ aptitude to meet the goal of individualized cultivation. It also can be beneficial to the successful operation of credit system thus to cultivate more excellent talents.

Comparative Research on Application of Interactive Whiteboards (IWBs)in K-12 Schools Between Britain and China

By Kang Cui Ju Huimin Wang Lina

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.04.11, Pub. Date: 29 Apr. 2012

Since Interactive whiteboards (IWBs) was firstly applied to k-12 schools in Britain, the related research has increasingly developed in China, and significant findings has achieved in both countries. For a further discussion, the comparative research method on this issue is employed, together with introduction and analysis of application of IWBs in Britain and China. It comes to the following conclusions: (1) application IWBs in China is still in the first stage against Britain. (2) Systematic research supported by the integrity of government, universities and teachers makes IWBs much applicable in Britain, but China still has a long way to go in this field. (3) China concentrates on its functions as a tool excessively, rather than pays more attention to the way of how to use it. (4)Some potential utility in instructional design associated with teachers-students interaction should be considered or discussed even more. Anyway, IWBs with its inherent characteristic, tends to play an important role in teaching.

The Fault Diagnosis Research of Gearbox Based on Hilbert-Huang Transform

By Cao Fengcai Pan Hongxia

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2012.04.12, Pub. Date: 29 Apr. 2012

The signal processing based on Hilbert-Huang transform is very suitable for nonlinear and non stationary process; it can extract gear fault features effectively. In this paper we aim at the engineering need of gearbox real-time monitoring and fault diagnosis, expanding a study of JZQ250 Gear Box. We use Hilbert-Huang transform to measure gear vibration signal processing, and use the obtained instantaneous frequency Hilbert marginal spectrum as the fault feature of the gearbox fault diagnosis. Tests showed that, the marginal spectrum based on Hilbert-Huang transform can get the characteristics of fault signal frequency of the gearbox, thus it can identify the type of gearbox fault effectively and achieve early fault prediction. The characteristics of instantaneous frequency can describe the corresponding fault type better. It has a good prospect in the field of gearbox fault diagnosis.
