Modeling and Simulation of integrated steering and braking control for vehicle active safety system

By Beibei Zhang Liang Tong

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijigsp.2011.02.01, Pub. Date: 8 Mar. 2011

Active chassis systems like braking, steering, suspension and propulsion systems are increasingly entering the market. In addition to their basic functions, these systems may be used for functions of integrated vehicle dynamics control. An experimental platform which aims to study the integration control of steering and braking is designed due to the research requirement of vehicle active safety control strategy in this paper. A test vehicle which is equipped with the systems of steer-by-wire and brake-bywire is provided and the Autobox, combined with Matlab/simulink and MSCCarsim, is used to fulfill the RCP (Rapid Control Prototyping) and HIL (Hardware-in-loop). The seven-freedom vehicle model is constructed first and the approach of vehicle parameters estimation based on the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) is proposed. Testing the vehicle state through the sensor has its own disadvantage that the cost is high and easily affected by environment outside. To find a actual method of receiving the vehicle state using the ready-made sensors in vehicle, the researchers put forward various estimation method, of which have advantages and disadvantages. Based on the above, this paper applies the EKF to estimate the vehicle state, making the actual estimation come true. The primary control methods and controller designment is carried out to prove the validation of the platform.

Simulation and Experiment of Projectile Penetrate into Steel Target Acceleration Signal Processing

By Wen Feng Zhou zhen

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijigsp.2011.02.02, Pub. Date: 8 Mar. 2011

For a comprehensive and objective understanding of the dynamic overload character of projectile penetrate into a steel target, using the simulating software ANSYS/LS-DYNA, adopting of the corresponding ammunition and target model, and the process of the ammunition penetrate the steel target was simulated and computed, the stress distribution map, mode and some results were got, using ball cartridge experiment, the original overload curves and high speed camera results were got. In this paper, the acceleration signals, which are obtained by the embedded high-overload electronic solid recorder at the experiment of armor-piercing bullet penetrating steel target, was done of wave filtering and integral analysis and so on in time domain, power spectrum was got through FFT in frequency-domain, as well as Wigner-Ville analysis and wavelet analysis in timefrequency. The characteristic signal when armor-piercing bullet penetrates steel target under certain conditions was obtained. Through signal processing and comprehensive analysis, a kind of signal processing method was provided to engineers, by which concerned parameters can be got.

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijigsp.2011.02.03, Pub. Date: 8 Mar. 2011

This article in view of the question that the high power motor could not starting and stopping directly in the industry, proposed one kind of design based on PIC single chip high power motor soft start and intelligence protective devices, utilized real-time measurement and control method with the feature of synchronous sampling electric current spurt value inverse time lag protection, according to the load situation four starting and protection control soft start ways of the under intelligent protection controller were designed. Intelligent soft starter design principles based on PIC single chip is articulated. The hardware circuit design, software flow design and test data analysis are given in details. By producing in Zibo Galaxy high-technology development co., Ltd.,it shows that this smart soft starter has the characteristics which are flexible parameter setting, intuitive liquid crystal display, diverse starting way, precise current limiting protection, accurate protection of lack phase, low-cost, collecting soft start and running protection with a body's protection controller, are suitable specially for the starting and control of high power motor, so the protector has broad application prospects.

Robust Reliable Control for a class of Uncertain Switched Linear Systems

By Junfeng Lu Zhongming Wu Yonggang Jia Xinrui Zhu

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijigsp.2011.02.04, Pub. Date: 8 Mar. 2011

This paper is concerned with the problem of robust reliable H∞ control for a class of uncertain switched systems with disturbances and also with actuator failures among a prespecified subset of actuator. Both state matrix and output matrix contain time-varying norm-bounded parameter uncertainties. The purpose of this problem is to design robust feedback-reliable controllers and a switching law such that the systems remain globally quadratically stable and H∞ performance not only when all actuators are operational, but also when some actuators experience failures. A design approach based on LMI(linear matrix inequality) method and convex combination technique is proposed to solve the problem addressed. Finally, simulation results illustrate the validity of designed controllers and the switching law.

The Aggregate Homotopy Method for Multi-objective Max-min Problems

By He Li Dong Xiao-gang Tan Jia-wei Liu Qing-huai

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijigsp.2011.02.05, Pub. Date: 8 Mar. 2011

Multi-objective programming problem was transformed into a class of simple unsmooth single-objective programming problem by Max-min ways. After smoothing with aggregate function, a new homotopy mapping was constructed. The minimal weak efficient solution of the multi-objective optimization problem was obtained by path tracking. Numerical simulation confirmed the viability of this method.

By Zhai Hua Zhong Huayong Zhao Han

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijigsp.2011.02.06, Pub. Date: 8 Mar. 2011

Crankshaft is the most important and hard manufacture part in engine and diesel, its deformation contains multiple arcs, and its straightening technology is a complex NP-hard determination problem. The crankshaft straightening process was analyzed, and some effects from multiple arcs crankshaft straightening was investigated. The mathematics model of multiple arcs straightening technology determination system was built based on graph theory principle. And the Influence of Bauschinger effect was considered, the online straightening technology determination calculation algorithm based on weighted evaluation function was proposed. The experiments about straightening crankshaft were performed in YH40-160 straightening press to evaluate two different weighted set C1={2.5,1.5,1,1.2,3.5} and C2={1,1,1,1,1}, and the results expressed that the online straightening technology determination calculation algorithm was advantage to crankshaft straightening process, and C1 had better influence to qualities and efficiencies than C2.

Rough Neuron network for Fault Diagnosis

By Yueling ZHAO Hui jin Lihong Wang Shuang WANG

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijigsp.2011.02.08, Pub. Date: 8 Mar. 2011

Considering training time of traditional BP neural network is too long and it cannot solve the problems in the input vector with multiple-valued, a new method of BP neural network based on rough neuron is presented. A rough neuron can be viewed as a pair of neurons. One neuron corresponds to the upper boundary and the other corresponds to the lower boundary. Upper and lower neuron exchange information with each other during the calculation of their outputs. Firstly, the continuous attributes in diagnostic decision system are discretized with particle swarm optimization. Then, the reducts are found based on attribute dependence of rough set, and the optimal diagnostic decision is determined. Lastly, according to the optimal decision system, rough neuron network is designed for fault diagnosis. A practical example is given , the method is feasible and available.
