The proper use of information technology can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of an organization’s performance. The use of information technology in educational institutions also require good governance so as to ensure transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness of any business process that runs on the institutions. Audit is one of the ways that can be done to determine the company’s ability to execute business process in it so that the performance of the process in the company can run better and more effective, and it can also improve the performance of employees. The audit process conducted at Office X aims to evaluate the work program using the COBIT 5 framework as a guide because it already contains four main perspectives, namely the customer perspective, financial perspective, internal business process perspective, and the learning and growth perspective. Results of research conducted at Office X show that the capability level of the four processes in the audit which are APO07 (Manage human resources), BAI02 (Manage requirements definition), BAI04 (Manage availability and capacity), and EDM04 (Ensure resource optimization) achieved by the Office still stop at level 1 and there is still a difference of 4 levels from what is expected by the company so that there needs to be improvements to achieve the specified target level 5.

In the era of technology, various information could be obtained quickly and easily. The history of Bali is one of the information that could be obtained. Balinese have known their history through Babad and stories which are told through generations. Babad is traditional-historical writing which tells important event that has happened. As technology evolves, Balinese’s interest in studying their own history has been decreased. It is caused by people interest in studying history books and chronicles tend to decrease over time. Therefore, an innovation of technology, which able to convert historical data from printed media to digital media, is needed. The technology that could be used is Chatbot technology; a computer program that could carry out conversations. Chatbot technology is used to make people learning history easily by using Instant Messenger LINE as a platform to communicate. This Chatbot uses two methods, namely the Artificial Intelligence Markup Language method and the Full-Text Search method. The Artificial Intelligence Markup Language method is used as the process of making characteristic of questions and answers. The Full-Text Search method is the process of matching answers based on user input. This chatbot only uses Indonesian to communicate. The results of this study are a Chatbot that could be accessed by using Instant Messenger LINE and could communicate like historian expert.

LINE Messenger as a Transport Layer to Distribute Messages to Partner Instant Messaging

By Kadek Darmaastawan I Made Sukarsa Putu Wira Buana

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijmecs.2019.03.01, Pub. Date: 8 Mar. 2019

The rapid development of technology generated a lot of instant messaging applications, as an example is LINE Messenger, Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, BlackBerry Messenger, etc. Many instant messaging applications cause some problems, one of which is the possibility of owning more than one instant messaging applications to meet messaging needs. This is very ineffective because messages will be received from various instant messaging applications and have to open all instant messaging applications one by one to reply to those messages. Application Programming Interface technology of instant messaging can be used to build a transport layer system that allows message exchange with several instant messaging applications using only one instant messaging application. The system built in this research requires a master instant messaging to be able to distribute messages to partner instant messaging, which in this case uses LINE Messenger as the master instant messaging to distribute messages to several partner instant messaging, which is Telegram and Extensible Messaging Presence Protocol.

Binary Log Design for One-Way Data Replication with ZeroMQ

By I Gede John Arissaputra I Made Sukarsa Putu Wira Buana Ni Wayan Wisswani

Today, many business transactions are done online, especially in the financial sector or banking [1]. But as companies grow, many problems occur such as the inability to manage data consistency, especially when data is associated with more than one database. Replication is one of the most commonly used way of syncing data. However, to ensure data remains consistent, it is not enough just to take advantage of the replication process. The problem that often happens is connection failure or offline host. The Binary Log approach is one of the alternative methods that can be used to develop database synchronization. Generally, binary log is used for data recovery or backup purposes. Binary log in the DBMS (Database Management System) record all changes that occur in the database both at the data and structure level, as well as the duration of time used. This information can be used as a reference in updating data, while the ZeroMQ socket used as data exchange medium so data in all system locations will be synchronized and integrated in real time. This research will discuss how to develop a synchronization system by utilizing Binary Log from MySQL to recognize data changes, inherit changes, send changes, and hopefully can contribute new alternative method in developing real time database synchronization.

Internal Control Improvement for Creating Good Governance

By I Wayan Prasada Bharaditya I Made Sukarsa Putu Wira Buana

Cooperative, which support the national economy of Indonesia, still has many problems. In 2015 the report by the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs shows many cooperatives are inactive because of having incompetence. Some issues such as the value of savings that do not fit between the cooperative and its customers, embezzlement of customer funds by parties who are not responsible, refunds troubled loans so that the cooperative suffered losses. These problems will be used as a critical point to do mapping with COBIT 5 framework. Based on the result of this mapping, it will be prepared internal control based on the framework of possible internal controls such as COBIT(Control Objective for Information & Related Technology), COSO(Committee of Sponsoring Organizations), ITIL(IT Infrastructure Library) and national regulations that are prevailing in Indonesia. Control is expected to discuss the internal problems that occurred in each business process that used in the cooperative.
